Today’s Rain Shadow

 

Today’s rain shadow is most certainly occurring. These are rainfall totals since midnight last night. Notice the significantly lower amounts to the east of the Olympics, and the higher amounts across the higher terrain, (see my post on mountainous terrain’s impacts of rainfall totals). Also pictured below is wind gusts today, which should slowly begin to increase.
